2. GCPS Enrollment Current enrollment is 3,837 students
Decreased 308 students since 2011
Projections indicate a loss of 58 students in the next five years
197 students in Pre-Kindergarten
Expansion grants allow us to serve many more students and operate two additional sites
Northern Garrett = 431
Southern Garrett = 671

3. Strategic Planning Process
2014: Board of Education determined goals for the school system.
2015: CORE team (Asst. Superintendent, Directors of Finance and HR) developed standards for each goal.
Next: LEAD team of Supervisors designed instructional objectives that would outline the work necessary to meet the goals.
Administrative Supervisors designed objectives for all other areas.
Objectives were determined based on overall system needs and the needs of each department.

Partnerships with all members of our community will be fostered and strengthened by engaging them in the education of our children.
All students will be challenged with a rigorous instructional environment preparing them to become life-long learners and responsible citizens.
All students and staff will learn in a safe, secure, and caring environment where everyone is valued and respected.
