8 Educational Programming: Butler Reconfiguration / Sego Closure  Establish a planning collaborative to study and design effective programming for 6-12 configuration.  Establish a community advisory committee to support the planning process Note: This action will develop over time and benefit from study of the 6-12 experience at Josey HS. Final decisions related to educational programming will be driven by current practice, instructional expectations, and technology development as the timeline matures. 9 Organizational Management: Butler Reconfiguration / Sego Closure Supervision: Principal will determine the most strategic duty stations for administration, staff, and School Resource Officer to successfully supervise all students. School Security: Assign School Resource Officers as appropriate. Upgrade surveillance cameras in the existing school and new construction, outside the school, and athletic complex. Transportation: All students will follow the same schedule. Assign bus monitors as appropriate. All buses will be equipped with three cameras. 10 Organizational Management: Butler Reconfiguration / Sego Closure Student interaction: While the day to day learning environment for middle and high school students will be separate, positive interaction among students and teachers is a vehicle that drives educational success.  Effective scheduling and supervision will establish a safe and orderly environment.  Lunch schedule  Media Center schedule  Science and Computer labs  Gymnasium schedule  Transitions (Class change, Dismissal, Arrival, etc.) All Organizational Management components will be evaluated each year for effectiveness and revision as needed. 11 School Climate: Butler Reconfiguration / Sego Closure  Anti-bullying Curriculum  OLEWUS – Violence Prevention Works  Teacher – as – Advisor Program  Each student will be assigned one caring adult who will mentor, monitor progress, and provide support throughout the child’s tenure at the school.  Full Time Nurse  Guidance Counselors (per state allocation)  Continued support services: social worker, psychologist, intervention specialist, and parent facilitator Learning Today…Leading Tomorrow The Mission of the Richmond County School System is to educate students to become lifelong learners and productive citizens.

12 Athletics: Butler Reconfiguration / Sego Closure  Butler 6-8 students will continue to participate in the RCSS Middle School Athletic Program for all sports.  Butler 9-12 students will continue to participate in the RCSS High School Athletic Program for all sports. 13 Staffing Plan: Butler Reconfiguration / Sego Closure Every effort will be made to ensure that every employee with satisfactory performance will be placed in another comparable position within the school system. This decision will be made on the basis of district enrollment patterns. Personnel will follow students to the extent possible. In cases where limited opportunities exist within these particular schools, staff members will be placed in comparable positions across the school system. As these decisions are made, staff members will be kept informed.
