1 Disorder in Public Worship
A Beautiful Mess 1 Corinthians 13:1-13 Disorder in Public Worship Part 3 of 3 The Supremacy of Love

2 1 Corinthians 13 LOVE is the most excellent way because it Enriches,
A Beautiful Mess LOVE is the most excellent way because it Enriches, Edifies and Endures.

3 Love Enriches Verses 1 to 3
A Beautiful Mess Verses 1 to 3 Love is essential and that without love all gifts are nothing.

4 Love Enriches A Beautiful Mess

5 Love Enriches A Beautiful Mess Even if he were so blessed that he could speak with the greatest of eloquence in every language, but didn't have love, then his life was as useless as this ridiculous act of pounding on a gong to awaken non-existent gods. Even knowing all that can be known, even the mysteries of God, is nothing without love. The world does need more knowledge, it needs more love. Knowledge puffs up, love builds up (1 Cor. 8:1).

6 Love Edifies Verses 4 to 7 The essential character of Christian love.
A Beautiful Mess Verses 4 to 7 The essential character of Christian love. It is an active love

7 Love Edifies 7 positive characteristics.
A Beautiful Mess 7 positive characteristics. Love is patient, kind, truthful, protective, trusting, hopeful and enduring. 8 negative characteristics. Love is not envious, not boastful, not proud, not dishonouring, not self-seeking, not easily angered, not bitter, does not delight in evil. In order to reinforce what it is!

8 Third test The content of the words. Do they glorify Jesus?
A Beautiful Mess The content of the words. Do they glorify Jesus? The character of the speaker or prophet. Does their life glorify Jesus? Do you see the characteristics of love in that Gift?

9 Love Edifies A Beautiful Mess Love must have a supreme position in the ministry of the church

10 Love Endures Verses 8 to 12 Love endures.
A Beautiful Mess Verses 8 to 12 Love endures. Love is permanent and as a result it is exceptional. Love never fails Prophecies, tongues and even our incomplete knowledge will all pass away

11 Love Endures A Beautiful Mess Depend on outward displays of gifts as a way of demonstrating maturity or spirituality. Paul counters this in verse 11 The gifts are not given for one’s own edification or prominence, but for the enrichment and edification of the church.

12 Love Endures We only know in part, we cannot see it completely
A Beautiful Mess We only know in part, we cannot see it completely Therefore, do not boast about your gifts, they are nothing compared to what is in store for us Christians when Jesus comes again.

13 Verse 13 Conclusion – And now…!
A Beautiful Mess Conclusion – And now…! Of these 3 gifts, faith, hope and love, love is the greatest. Love unite us with God. Love unites us with each other. Love identifies us as children of God. John 13:34-35 1 John 4:8

14 Verse 13 We as a church will continue to eagerly seek the Gifts
A Beautiful Mess We as a church will continue to eagerly seek the Gifts But we must use God’s gifts the way He wants us to use them The active use of God’s love by His people is the supreme way to live for God, to serve people and the world through the Gifts given to us by God.
