2 By 2040, our target is that at least two-thirds of all trips be on foot, bike or transit.
If you look at this chart, you’ll notice that the bar has gotten bigger. That’s because the total number of trips has grown. The orange part of the bar – the motor vehicle part – has actually only fallen slightly from today. But all of the growth happens in the other modes. We’ve made great progress since the plan was approved. In fact, as of last year, we’ve already reached our 2020 target. Early findings from our Transportation Panel Survey show walking and cycling trips continue to increase. ** check with Dale to see if this is public information ** Walking has increased from 26% to 27% Biking has increased from 5% to 7% Car sharing has increased from 20% to 26% (from 13% in 2013) 49.5% mode sure in 2015. Transit has decreased 18% to 16%
