11 Virginia Alternate Assessment Program (VAAP)
Portfolio-based assessment Alternative to SOLs Permanent products may include videos, pictures, or worksheets Tested areas: Reading and Math (scores reported to state) Portfolio includes Science & Social Studies for 3rd graders and S.S. for 4th graders (scores not reported to the state) Teacher will choose aligned VA Standards of Learning (aSOL) targets for the child to be assessed on. Teacher will collect evidence of mastery. Portfolios will be graded and you will get a report on your child’s performance from the State.
