Line of Sight in Public Settings Must mentor in places where other adults are “in the line of sight” and Mentor and child are easily observed by others.

Line of Sight in Secluded Settings Mentoring in secluded sites requires a second RFK Mentor, Staff or Safety Companion.

Transportation Policy Mentors are required to keep a Transportation/Visit Log, and a copy is provided to the Mentoring Club Director each month.

Transportation Logs When transporting a Mentoring Club Kid, Mentors must carry:  Transportation Log  Signed Medical/Transportation Release  Proof of Auto Insurance  Valid Driver’s License

Transportation Policy Who else can drive a Mentoring Club Kid? - Certified Staff: only with required documents - Uncertified Staff: ONLY IF a certified staff/mentor is in the car + required documents

Transportation Policy Who CAN NOT Transport A Mentoring Club Kid? • Anyone under the age of 18 may not transport a Mentoring Club Kid at any time. Certified Staff: only with required documents

OPEN DOOR POLICY No Mentor or Mentoring Club Volunteer should ever be alone with a child behind a closed door.

OVERNIGHT POLICY NO individual overnight events or trips with Mentoring Club Kids GROUP overnight events REQUIRE: Mentoring Club Director permission Signed caregiver permission Event insurance At least 4 Mentors

Bed Rule If a Mentor and Mentoring Club Kid are ever in a room with beds, the RFK “Camp bed rule” applies Camp bed rule - At NO time during camp should a camper be allowed to lie or sit on the counselor’s bed or shall the counselor lay or sit on the camper’s bed.

No Publishing of RFK Child Photos For Publicity: No identifiable photographs of Mentoring Club children may be published or posted anywhere.

Photos with more than one Club Kid Group Pictures: Ok to take a photo of kids together if there is nothing to identify the children as Mentoring Club members.

When the Rules Aren’t Different Connecting with foster kids after Camp in the name of Royal Family KIDS is still OFF LIMITS Unless… There is an active Mentoring Club and the Mentor has been given permission by the Mentoring Club Director.
