Mitral regurgitation is highly likely to improve with aortic valve replacement in the absence of atrial fibrillation, left atrial dilatation, or pulmonary hypertension. This algorithm requires validation by further studies. *A staged approach is possible, consisting of TAVI followed by implantation of a MitraClip® (Evalve, Inc., USA) if symptomatic mitral regurgitation persists.
