3 Categories of broadband mapping
Status Categories of broadband mapping Under development During the test Done There are 4 basic categories of broadband mapping. We can map infrastructure, investment, service and demand. Each is a bit different when it comes to core mapping content. Infrastructure mapping shows telecoms and other relevant infrastructure and construction works. Investment mapping allows to see the planned and implemented investments, and show the way they are financed. Service mapping shows the applied technology, providers, data volume usage and take-up, as well as prices. Demand mapping shows the demand for bandwidth, the quality of service but also the required services and willingness to pay. NPK Source-Broadband and infrastructure mapping study SMART 2012 / 0022

4 Information about usage of network components and sold services
Network Model for infrastructure mapping Full picture of Polish telecom network. Topologically connected telecom nodes by fiber optic cables, relation and radio line with access network dived on technology Backbone Distribution Access Sold services Coverage Addresses supplied by access network Information about usage of network components and sold services

5 Theoretical value, based on the technical ability of the existing infrastructure (QoS offered by providers) Availability of 30 mb/s Data are collected to single building according to the presented network model. We are able to visualize any data on any kind of level Let’s start from Poland territory and see how access to the internet looks like. Next is Mazowieckie province with counties Now we see Piaseczno count with communities We can present on different level in one community , from census regions through census enumerations to building addresses in given city or village.

6 Internet throughtput range in Mb/s
Theoretical value, based on the technical ability of the existing infrastructure (QoS offered by provider) Potential access to Internet below 30Mb/s White addresses Sold services 30 Mb/s Internet throughtput range in Mb/s 1 2 4 8 10 20 30 100 600 Potential access to Internet min.30 Mb/s Sold services below 30 Mb/s

9 Memorandum on cooperation for QoS in the telecommunications market
Technical tools and the platforms to measure QoS/QoE Memorandum on cooperation for QoS in the telecommunications market Memorandum on cooperation for improving the quality of services in the telecommunications market provided to users, proposed in May by the President of UKE and eventually signed with other entities on 26 October 2012, in accordance with the provisions of the Universal Service Directive, stipulates that: contracts for services should be structured in a clear, understandable, easily accessible form, published information on the quality of services provided by telecommunications undertakings should be comparable, relevant and up to date, the user shall have access to comprehensive, comparable, reliable information presented in a friendly form, measurable indicators of quality of service shall be identified, as well as the content, form and method of providing information to be published, minimum quality requirements shall be identified in order to prevent deterioration of the quality of service in public networks.

10 UKE’s Report on testing the quality of the mobile phone services
Technical tools and the platforms to measure QoS/QoE UKE’s Report on testing the quality of the mobile phone services In the fourth quarter of 2015, the President of UKE decided to carry out tests of service quality of four telecommunications operators. The analysis was conducted across the country; most measurements have been made within cities and urban agglomerations in order to reach as many consumers as possible. However, for the reason of the specificity of coverage of the respective transmitters, the results of the analysis should not be viewed as reliable for every point in Poland, nor generalized for the whole country Use of the technology (GSM (2G), UMTS (3G), LTE (4G)) in a given area, in terms of service voice and data transmission Test statistics Voice calls Data transfer test – Download/ Upload Delays i transmitting data packages test Test of delay variability Test of the reference website YouTube Test

12 Technical tools and the platforms to measure QoS/QoE
NPK - Measurement Tool under the project on Information System on Broadband Infrastructure and Broadband Poland portal The NPK project supports the Information System on Broadband Infrastructure. The system collects the updated data related to: • telecommunications infrastructure providing or allowing for the provision of broadband Internet access, • main elements of public telecommunications networks providing or allowing for the provision of broadband Internet access: ◦ public telecommunications network nodes, ◦ transmission systems of the public telecommunications network, ◦ public telecommunications networks’ interconnection points, • buildings enabling co-location.
