2 Early days, computers were very hard to operate.
It was rare if anyone could used them. You had to know programming to complete a simple task.

4 He Started programming at the age of 13.
In 1973, he entered Harvard University. He developed the programming language BASIC He left Harvard at his junior year. He and his childhood friend Paul Allen started company “Microsoft”

6 Microsoft Microsoft’s goal was to make user friendly operating system that didn’t require knowledge of programming Microsoft designed operating system for IBM computers. IBM turned Microsoft's deal down. They released their version of operating system called Windows.

7 Success Microsoft made billions of dollars over the years.

12 LINUX LINUX was first designed for US Department of Defense.
It was designed to be stable and secure. Later it was released for public for free. LINUX was designed with cooperation of programmers from all over the world. No viruses could damage the system.

15 Why are we still using windows?

16 Because LINUX is not very well known yet.
Software companies have made their programs compatible for windows systems.

17 Donations Bill Gates has donated more than $27 Billion worldwide.
$750 million for immunization program to develop vaccines. $2 Billion to improve learning opportunities.
