2. Sutures of the Skull and Breathing
Breathing causes a slight opening and closing of the cranial sutures throughout life.
Breathing also causes the pumping of CSF throughout the brain and spinal cord.
This hydrates all the nerves of your body and allows them to function properly.

3. Sutures were once thought to be fused shortly after birth
Sutures were once thought to be fused shortly after birth. This has been proven to be false as shown by many studies including a research study done by NASA. The study shows that there is slight movement of skull bones on respiration in adults.

4. Cranial Subluxation
A locked up suture of the skull can cause lack of blood flow, CSF flow and oxygen to the parts of the brain surrounding that suture.
This is called a cranial subluxation or a locked up joint in your head.
This causes the brain to dry out and decrease in function.

5. Things that can cause cranial subluxation
Traumatic birth
Head injuries
Injuries to the tail bone
Anything that causes inflammation of the CNS resulting in scar tissue

6. Problems that can result from cranial subluxation
Headaches
TMJ (misalignment of your bite and jaw dysfunction)
Sinus problems
Difficulty breathing through your nose
Sleep apnea (decreased oxygen to the brain during sleeping)
Chronic Fatigue
Many other conditions

7. The Treatment
Exam to determine where the skull is locked up and the head position needed at the time of the adjustment
SOT or sacral-occipital technique (allows CSF to flow better)
Work on the sutures of the skull on the outside of the head with my hands
Balloon assisted cranial adjustment
