8,500 persons face hunger due to 5,700 ha paddy mostly destroyed
37,000 persons lack water; and 11,000 persons lack potable water
30,000 persons face risks due to inadequate sanitation

5. Damages and Losses 11,000 children face problems going back to school;
1 health station collapsed; 7 have poor sanitation conditions
Thousands HH face risk of debt default due to loss of 988 ha fish ponds; 860 cattle; and 25,000 poultry
29 km road & 20 bridges destroyed needing repair
Damaged dams/irrigation systems threaten livelihood of 65,000 people
Financial loss approx. 300 trillion VND (US$ 18 million)
