2. PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS
A warthog’s body is about 3 to 4 feet long.
Its’ tusk’s are up to 2 feet long.
A warthog may weigh up to 200 pounds.
A warthog measures 30 inches high at the shoulders.

3. HABITAT
The warthogs live in savannas and sparse Forest.

4. FOOD
Warthogs are omnivores so that means that they eat grass, roots, berries and carrions (dead animals that they find on the floor)

5. PROTECTION / PREDATORS
The warthogs run instead of fight.
When the warthog runs it tries to hide.
It hides in an abandoned aardvark den.
When they hide, they let their young go first inside the den and the adults go last because they have to protect their babies.

6. LIFE SPAN
A warthog lives up to 15 years.

7. BABIES The warthog’s gestation period is 175 days.
The baby warthog is called a piglet.
The piglets drink the mothers milk about 4 to 5 months.

8. COOL FACTS A warthog is an African pig that has large tusks.
The warthog has poor vision.
The adult female is called a sow and a baby is called a piglet.
