Absolute location: exact place on earth where a geographic feature is found
Relative location: describes a place in comparison to other places around it

Asks:
What is it like?
Include physical features and cultural characteristics of a location

What are some cultural characteristics of Texas?

6. Region Asks: Three ways: formal, functional, & perceptual regions
How are places similar or different?
Three ways: formal, functional, & perceptual regions
Formal:
Limited number of related characteristics
Ex: Latin America & East Asia

7. Region Functional: Perceptual:
Organized around a set of interactions and connections between places
Ex: a city & its suburbs
Perceptual:
A region in which people perceive the characteristics of the region in the same way

10. Movement Psychological: Refers to the way people view distance
How has your age affected the way you see distance?

Asks:
How do people relate to the physical world?
People learn to use what the environment offers them & to change that environment to meet their needs
What are some examples of how we change our environment? What about how the environment changes us?
