If you have got a common ailment such as a cough, sore throat, or sticky eye, please ask the practice receptionist or your local pharmacy about the Pharmacy First Scheme Think Pharmacy First

2 What is Pharmacy First? Pharmacy First is a scheme that is available for children and people who don’t have to pay for their prescriptions and are suffering from a common ailment. You can get advice and treatment for a range of common ailments FREE OF CHARGE from a participating pharmacy and no appointment is necessary

3 What conditions are included?
There are 28 different conditions included in the scheme Bites and stings Chickenpox Headache Earache Sprains and strains Eye Infection Cough Hayfever Haemorrhoids Warts and Verrucas Infant colic Indigestion Colds and Nasal congestion Cold sores Constipation Cystitis Skin rash Diarrhoea Fever Fungal skin infections Mouth ulcers Nappy rash Oral thrush Scabies Sore throat Teething Threadworms Vaginal thrush

4 How do I access the service?
There are several ways to access the service including; self-referral at the pharmacy referral from your GP practice referral from Out of Hours Service or 111 What do I need to take to the pharmacy? You will need to take the following information with you;  confirmation of registration with your GP practice  evidence of exemption from prescription charges  your NHS number if known

5 You don’t have to see your GP. Ask your pharmacist first
