2 Notes about your presentation
Write in short, clear sentences Present in 120 seconds. Practice it over and over. Use correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, capitalization. Mistakes show poor quality. Use page numbers in the slides Use spoken English, not written English Know your audience: Website, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc., where he went to university, what he studied, his career, his personal interests

3 Structure of your presentation
Your pitch deck should be ten pages or less. The less, the better. Page One: The idea Page Two: The team Page Three: Market opportunity. How big is the market? Do a quick Google search to find this. Final Slide: The Ask. What are you asking for? You need $X to do Y.

4 The Title Page Company name / logo
One-line description of what your company does Date, such as September 2016 or Q4/2016 Who this presentation is prepared for? Investor, pitch event?

5 Your Founder Team Photos of your senior management members. Use professional portrait photos. Do not use snapshots. Name, title, university degree, experience, expertise. For example: Laura Gong, CEO. Mechanical engineer, Stanford Two years on the International Space Station. Team leader to build space station robots. Your advisors: Eurydice Katzenjammer, Investor Advisor. Stanford 2005, five years at Kleiner-Perkins. Five years head of SV-Investments. Show you can attract a good founder team. Your founder team has relevant education, experience, and expertise. Include your advisors. This is your most important slide: It should show that your team is capable of developing the idea, find customers, and build the project.

6 The Market Opportunity
What is the impact of the problem that you will solve? How big is the market opportunity (in US $)? Country, state, city? For example, $1B in US, $300m in California, $25m in Palo Alto.

7 Product, Service, or Technology
How will your product/technology/service solve the problem? Say it in words that your grandmother can understand Do you have intellectual property (IP) or patents? Photos or screen captures Storyboard as a cartoon video, up to 12o seconds

8 The Competitive Landscape
Who are the major players in this market? How are you different from competitors? How are you better than competitors?

9 Your Business Model How will your business will make money?
How does your business model compare to other players? Will your business model change over time? What do you have so far? Number of users? Monthly revenue?

10 The Financial Overview
Simple 5-year financial projection

11 The Ask How much money have you raised so far?
How much money do you need? We’re looking for $500,000. How will that money be spent? We’ll use that to buy server space, pay minimal salaries, pay for initial marketing, and cover costs. How much runway will this be? $500,000 will cover costs for 18 months. When do you need this money? We need this by the end of the month. When will you need to raise more money? We will raise more money in 18 months. Are you willing to invest? Ask for the money. Don’t discuss valuation. This can be discussed in a followup meeting. Ask the investor why they are the best investor for your company and what they can do for you.
