2 Our meeting will cover:
Why Travel is Important Our Tour Our Travel Partner What’s Included and What’s Not The Safety Approach How to Reserve Your Spot

3 Why travel? Why am I so passionate about travel? From my years of study, research and performing abroad Why is this tour great for our group? We will visit four cities in four countries that represent unique perspectives on central European music Why is this itinerary so important now? Through a specific curriculum designed for this itinerary, students will learn not only about deep historic divisions in the region but also about the cultural connections that are evident in the art, literature and music of each city

4 What is unique about this tour?
Students will have the opportunity to perform in at least one of the tour cities! The purpose of the performance/workshop scheduled in Vienna is for students to situate and experience the music they have learned in a new place – possibly the place where it was originally created! Many students will be performing works by the most well-known Viennese composers such as Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Schoenberg. Others may choose composers from other locations on the tour such as Liszt, Bartok, Dvorak, Janacek or any other selection from their repertoire! When we arrive in Vienna, everyone will have the opportunity to share their own insights into the music they have studied and to perform it for the group! (Students are not required to perform as part of this tour, but they will be encouraged.) Other highlights from our itinerary: Franz Liszt Museum, Vienna State Opera, the Rudolfinium, and the Lenbachhaus Meeting composers and musicians in each city Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty – this is where it all started for our Group Leader! Students will learn about the history and importance of this international broadcasting entity now based in Prague Your own performance in Vienna and possibly other cities! For more information about the music, art and literature focus of this tour, visit
