1. NHL REGULAR SEASON PREMIERES
The 2017–2018 National Hockey League season will be the 101th year of operation. Centennial celebrations continue with a record number of events scheduled. With the addition of new expansion team, the Vegas Golden Knights, 31 teams will now compete in a 82-game season. The Pittsburgh Penguins will raise their fifth Stanley Cup championship banner as they host the St Louis Blues on October 4th.
