3. What is the bookstore?
The bookstore is a student run store located in the commons at Pittsford Mendon High School
The bookstore is open after school from 2:25-2:50
We sell a variety of snacks and drinks
We are open Monday-Thursday

4. Responsibilities
Employees will get the cashbox and the key to open up the bookstore at the beginning of the shift. They will work to help customers throughout the shift. They will close the bookstore and return the cashbox at the end of the shift.
Employees will help customers make purchases, so they must be friendly and helpful
Employees should be comfortable with tracking sales and making change
Employees must be trustworthy and reliable

5. Daily Sales Sheet Needs to be filled out during every shift
Place in the envelope with the deposit at the end of the shift

6. Why Join? To gain work experience To build your resume
To accumulate community service hours. Student employees are responsible for keeping track of their hours and submitting them to the Career Exploration Office. Each shift or meeting counts as an hour of community service.
It looks great on a college application

7. Interested?
If you are interested in working for the bookstore during the school year, you must complete the following steps:
Attend informational meeting
Stay for today’s training session. Training is mandatory. This applies to all student employees, even if you have worked in the bookstore previously.
Submit your availability to the Google Doc on Mrs. Burch’s teacher webpage
Sign up for Remind to see the new month’s schedule

8. Availability and Scheduling
Go to the Google Doc on Mrs. Burch’s teacher webpage and submit the information requested
Sign up for Remind in order to see the new schedule when it is complete.

What if you’re not scheduled? We have a lot of students sign up so you may not be scheduled on the first one. We didn’t forget you, we will schedule you next month.
