4 FAFSA What is the FAFSA? Free Application for Federal Student Aid
Why should I complete the FAFSA? Determines if you can receive Federal Assistance – PELL GRANTS, SEOG, Federal Work Study and LOANS (Sub/Unsub) Required for TOPS recipients

5 FAFSA When can I file for Fall 2018? October 1, 2017
What tax information will I need to provide? Your 2016 taxes are being used for the Aid year (Fall 2018-Summer 2019) Each year you need to complete the FAFSA which will be available on October 1st.

6 FSA ID What is the FSA ID? A username and password for logging in to certain U.S. Department of Education (ED) websites. The FSA ID identifies you as someone who has the right to access your own personal information on ED websites such as the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Both the student and 1 parent will need to create one Used to sign legally binding documents electronically. Sharing your FSA ID is like teaching someone to forge your signature; and it could put you at risk of identity theft!

8 How will I pay? Federal Assistance for incoming freshmen: currently
PELL GRANT –$5,920 per yr (need based) SEOG - $2,000 per yr (need based, limited funds) Subsidized Loans - $3,500 per yr (need based) Unsubsidized Loans - $2,000 per yr Cost vs Aid Federal Aid Tuition and Fees $4,294 per semester Federal Assistance $6,710 per semester

10 Scholarships Southeastern Honors Scholarships
Priority Deadline: January 15th Eligibility and Retention: Students must be enrolled in at least 12 hours each semester through 14th class day Students must maintain 3.0 semester cumulative GPA Students must complete 30 credit hours per academic year (Fall, Spring, Summer)

11 Scholarships TOPS Opportunity TOPS Performance TOPS Honors
TOPS recipients have until the end of summer semester to earn the required 24 credit hours. Failure to do so suspends all future eligibility unless an extenuating circumstance applies. Must be continuously enrolled and full-time through the census date each semester. Check with the Scholarship office before dropping a class. TOPS Opportunity No stipend included - Total: $2, Fall 2017 20-22 ACT/Retention 2.30 for the first year and 2.50 GPA every year after that TOPS Performance $200 stipend Fall Total: $3, for semester 23-26 ACT/Retention 3.00 GPA TOPS Honors $400 stipend Fall Total: $3, for semester 27+ ACT/Retention 3.00 GPA

12 Scholarships Dual Enrollment 15+ Completion Scholarship
Must have 15 hours of Dual Enrollment credit from Southeastern with a “C” or better Must enroll beginning the Fall immediately following your graduation Must be enrolled full-time $1,000 scholarship for 1 year Payments are split into $500 for Fall 2018/$500 Spring 2019

13 Southeastern Scholars Waiver
Scholarships Southeastern Scholars Waiver Students must have an ACT 24+ Cumulative GPA of 3.0+ Completed application signed by the principal Scholarship to cover tuition and some fees is available for up to six credit hours per semester More information at:

15 Work Study HOW DO I FIND A JOB ON CAMPUS?
The student must take the initiative by inquiring at different locations on campus. HOW OFTEN AND HOW MUCH DO I GET PAID? The student is paid bi-weekly. Student workers may work up to 25 hours per week. Students are paid between $7.25/hr and $8.00/hr, depending on which department they work for. 16 Southeastern Payment Plan (SPP)
Students must be in good financial standing with the University. Divides tuition, fees, housing and meals into three Installments for Fall and Spring. During the Summer, divides into two installments. 1/3 due by fee payment deadline 1/3 due approximately 30 days later 1/3 due approximately 30 days after that ****Dates are specified on the SPP Contract**** Apply online through LeoNet account $45 processing fee (due by Fee Payment Deadline) $10 late fee charged on late payments No interest charged. Need to print a copy for your records from the student’s account. SPP does NOT include fines, or prior semester debt, and all prior debt must be paid before enrolling in the Southeastern Payment Plan.
