3 Our Focus on Learning (Beginning Orchestra)
We will learn to play our stringed instruments individually and in an orchestra. We will have great performance opportunities. Watch for the concert schedule that will be handed out in class or look it up on my website. NOTE: Add the title of your course. 4 Classroom Policies and Procedures
Please remember to bring your instrument on every B day! You will not need your instrument on the first day of class but please bring it every other B day unless I notify you differently. Be prepared to play individually and as a group in this class. Please read through the disclosure that will be sent home the first day of class or find it on my website. It will need to be signed and returned. NOTE: List rules/policies/procedures specific to your classroom (as opposed to school-wide policies/procedures). Consider policies for tardies/absences, late/missing work, homework/testing. 5 Supply List – Beginning Orchestra
Your instrument – Violins and Violas – provide your own. Cellos and Basses are available for rent through the school. Just let me know the first day of class that you need a school instrument. The rent is for the year payable at the office. Essential Elements Book 2 for your instrument Supplies for your instrument Optional – a 3 ringed notebook with clear plastic sheets to keep your music in. This is the best way to keep your music organized for class and performances. Optional but highly recommended – Smart Music for a home computer or IPAD. Go to smartmusic.com to learn how to purchase that or watch for information that will come home with your student.
