1 CCC Locker Proposal At present the number of lockers available in the men's changing / locker room is insufficient for our needs, and there is a constant waiting list of persons requesting locker space. Due to the size constraints of the locker room itself, it would not be possible to incorporate a locker for every person who does shift in the CCC (at present approximately 80 people – although not everyone may wish to have a locker available). The current layout has 12 columns of 2 lockers (500mm (w) x 500mm (d) x 1650mm (h)) , providing only 24 individual lockers, along with a locker room bench (with clothes hanger rail). With the creation of a locker area in B.865 we have offered to let them have our current lockers, and add new lockers into the CCC.

2 Locker Restrictions (1)
There are a number of different factors that need to be taken into account before proposing a new locker layout. First due to the limited space available, each locker column (stack) must have a maximum dimension of 500mm x 500mm x 2200mm A bench should be provided, whilst coat / clothes hangers would be a nice option to include. Each individual locker must be large enough to contain an individuals PPE (individual biocell, safety shoes, boots and helmet for example), as well as some personal effects. Lockers should be conform (same materials / colours) Each locker should be locakable by either key or code, with a spare or master key available.

3 Locker Preferences (2) When selecting a locker, it would be preferable to choose a size that will allow a motorcycle helmet to fit inside. It would be preferable to have a locker that would allow the TI operators to store their rain jackets The lockers must be durable The lockers must be OK for use with both dry and wet / humid conditions Storage of wet / damp clothes and equipment Proximity to shower

4 Locker Proposal General
It was decided to replace the current 500mm x 500mm stacks with a slightly narrower stack of 400mm x 500mm, as this would allow us to easily add extra stacks, whilst still having room for a motorcycle helmet inside. Whilst decreasing the width of the lockers, increasing the height of the stacks allows us to recover the space lost, so we are looking at stacks at least 1800mm tall. To aid access to the lower lockers, a base or feet should be available to slightly raise the stacks off the ground. Each individual locker must have to option of either a key lock, combination lock or a padlock, although this last option is the least prefered We will provide a small bench to fit in front of the radiators to save more room Coat hooks can be provided above the radiators (this will also aid in the drying of wet / damp clothing / equipment)

5 Proposal 1 – 3 stack lockers
Stack Dimensions: 400mm x 500mm x 1800mm Locker Dimensions (usable dimensions) : 350mm x 475mm x 540mm Using these lockers we could fit up to 16 stacks in the room giving a total of 48 lockers. Pro: Doubles number of lockers Only a slight loss of storage space per locker Air vent at rear of locker base / feet available as option Con: No shelves or hangers

6 Proposal 1 – 3 stack lockers

7 Proposal 1 – 3 stack lockers

8 Proposal 2 – 3 + 2 stack lockers
Stack Dimensions: 400mm x 500mm x 1800mm Locker Dimensions (usable dimensions) : 350mm x 475mm x 834mm By using a mix of lockers, we could add a larger locker for TI operators to hang their wet weather jackets. The same 16 stack layout would provide 43 lockers Pro: Doubles number of lockers Only a slight loss of storage space - 3 tier locker Air vent at rear of locker Room for jackets in 2 tier locker base / feet available as option Con: No shelves or hangers (3 tier locker) Difference in appearance

9 Proposal 2 – 3 + 2 stack lockers
2 different layouts are possible: Group of five near shower room or against far wall

10 Proposal 2 – 3 + 2 stack lockers

11 Proposal 3 – 3 stack + Z lockers
Stack Dimensions : 400mm x 500mm x 1980mm Locker Dimensions (usable dimensions) Storage : 350mm x 475mm x 300mm Clothes : 165mm x 475mm x 1220mm By using a mix of lockers, we could add a larger locker for TI operators to hang their wet weather jackets. The same 16 stack layout would provide 43 lockers Pro: Doubles number of lockers Only a slight loss of storage space - 3 tier locker base / feet available as option Air vent at rear of locker Separate and larger section for jackets Con: No shelves or hangers (3 tier locker) Difference in appearance Height difference Smaller storage space – Z locker

12 Proposal 2 – 3 stack + Z lockers
2 different layouts are possible: Group of five near shower room or against far wall

13 Proposal 3 – 3 stack + Z lockers
