2 REPEATER STATION OF OIL PIPELINE
A REPEATER STATION IS AN INTERMMEDIATE INTALLATION BETWEEN TWO PUMPING STATIONS NORMALLY SITUATED AT A DISTANCE OF ABOUT 50 KM FROM UPSTREAM OR DOWNSTREAM OF A PUMPING STATION. THERE IS ONE OR TWO REPEATER STATION(S) BETWEEN TWO STATIONS. O & M MANAGED JOINTLY BY CONCERNED STATION & MAINTENANCE BASES.. MANNED BY WCL CHOKIDER ON SHIFT BASIS ONLY. IT IS USED FOR PIGGING OF CRUDE TRUNK LINE AND SECTIONALIZTION OF CRUDE TRUNK AND NUMALIGARH SILIGURI PRODUCT PIPELINES,CATHODIC PROTECTION OF OIL;S LINES AS WELL AS GSPL OF IOC & DNPL,PARAMETER MEASURING/MONITORING THROUGH TELEMETRY, VARIOUS TELECONNUICATION DEVICES OF OIL AND OTHER OPERATORS AND GENERATION OF POWER FOR ABOVE ACTIIVITIES. THERE ARE 15 FUNCTIONAL REPEATER STATIONS, 8 OF WHICH FUNCTION AS SV STATIONS FOR NSPL ALSO.

4 POWER GENERATION PRESENTLY POWER GENERATED THROUGH 3X 25 KVA DG SETS, 1DUTY AND 2 STANDBY. DG SET OPERATED ON 7X24 BASIS. FUEL CONSUMPTION 2.6 TO 4 LITRES /HOUR. Electrical power used for of Motorized Isolation Valves and other Motorized valves ,Cathodic Protection of PIPELINES, Telemetry and communication equipments of OIL & other operators,OFC equipment,security lights, building lighting and air conditioning. AN AVERAGE LOAD DEMAND IS 3 TO 5 KW.

6 POWER GENERATION ECONOMICS
COST OF GENERATION IS HIGH(INR 61 TO 71 APPROXIMATELY) CO2 EMISSION IS ABOUT 2.O KG/KWH. ELECTRICAL & MECHANICAL SPARES ARE NOT READILY AVAILABLE AND VERY COSTLY TOO. GRID POWER IS NOT AVAILABLE IN MOST OF LOCATIONS,WHEREEVER AVIALABLE IS NOT RELIABLE.

7 ONLY VIABLE ALTERNATIVE IS RENEWABLE ENERGY.
AND OF COURSE P V SOLAR POWER IS THE BEST SOLUTION

8 CHRONOLOGICAL EVENTS FEASIBILITY STUDIES TO HARNESS SOLAR POWER WAS DONE IN FEBRUARY,2011 IN THREE LOCATIONS. B G HILL(RS6&7) WAS TAKEN AS SITE FOR PILOT PROJECT. HOWEVER,SCENERIO CHANGED,BG HILL BECOMES OPERATIONALLY REDUNDANT. RS5,JAGIROAD WAS TAKEN NEW SITE FOR PILOT PROJECT IN MARCH,2013.

9 EXECUTION M/S MOSER BAER SOLAR LIMITED WAS QUALIFIED FOR THE PROJECT EXECUTION THROUGH OPEN BIDDING. FIRM ORDER WAS ISSUED IN JULY,2014. INSTALLATION COMPLETED ON 28/10/2014 AND CHARGED FOR TEST RUN. PLANT PUT ON CONTINUOUS OPERATION FROM 01/11/2014. INAUGURATED AND DEDICATED TO THE SERVICE ON 19/11/2014.

ALTITUDE : 167 M PLANT CAPACITY : 20 KWp(STC) MODULE NOM. POWER: 250 Wp NUMBER OF MODULE: 80 NUMBER OF STRING : 4 MODULE AREA: 129 M2 CELL AREA : 117 M2. COLLECTOR PLANE TILT- 15 deg. Average Annual GHI: KWh/m2 SPECIFIC YIELD: 1515 KWH/KWp/YEAR(STC) EXPECTED YIELD: KWH/YEAR(STC).

11 ENERGY BALANCE Expected Average daily Yield is 85 units .
Day Time requirement 28 to 40 kwh. Night Time Consumption 51 to 62 kwh. Average Monthly DG run 36 to 90 hours.

A standalone (virtual) grid created by 3x SMA Make Sunny Island SI 6.0 Battery Charger/Inverter. Battery Bank(3x 1500 AH, 48.0 V FLA Tubular). Web Box. Temparatures,wind speed& radiation sensors.

13 PLANT OPERATION Default day Power Source: Solar
Night time Source Battery up to DOD=> 50%. DG set run upto the Battery SoC =<70%. Automatic DG Set start & stop. Manual DG Set Run through system or externally with load or no-load. Interlocked system bypassing to run DG set only. Web based Monitoring. Optimal load on DG Set when run. Stable & conditioned power supply only. Automatic weekly I hour DG Test run.
