4 Insight Research Domains
Connected Health & Human Performance Smart Communities Internet of Things Public & Open Data e-Government Operations & Logistics News & Media Bio-Medical Analytics & eHealth Customer & Marketing Services /Smart Enterprise Agri-Tech & food Financial Services Feedback for the chart Some initial thoughts after reading this on the train this morning. I added them as notes on the relevant slide but the attachment is too big for Irish Rail wifi so I’m pasting them below. Happy to discuss obviously. Slide 7 Not sure what the benefit is in calling out these companies? No major success stories yet here. Slide 8 I used to include this slide as well but I’m not sure it adds anything any more. Slide 9  How does this relate/map to the actual research work being carried out? Slide 10 How does this framework relate to the previous slide? For me, it describes the different kinds of data that we deal with but the “capture, understand, decide/act” should only come in with the next slide as it relates to the research groups. Slide 11 Mixture of official research groups & additional “actual” groups. Politically sensitive? Why include some but not others? Slide 12 Some thoughts on these - no particular order.. Environmental sensing (Dermot Diamond)? Enterprise should possibly be a domain of it’s own (for optics)? Consumer and News/Media as separate domains also? Digital Humanities as a domain? Industry 4.0 maybe does not need the operations element in the name? Would remove analytics word from any domain title – implied in all Do we have enough in financial, agri, to call these out (yet)? Change eGov Public Data Services to eGov & Public Data (can have public data without gov element) Connect Health could include “Human Performance” in title? Insight core and applied research Data Analytics New Techniques, Technologies, Innovations, Pilots Partners and Funding Research Consortia - enterprise ecosystems - domain partners – leverage funding mechanisms.
