3. The Meditation:
PASTOR: So many of us are a part of small congregations of 100 or less. As a result, we often feel so small and insignificant.
PEOPLE: What can such a small rag-tag group of believers do to change a nation, a city, or even a neighborhood? How can we touch a city?
PASTOR: We forget that you chose only 12. Later, you sent out 70. And they turned village after village upside down.
PEOPLE: The stories abound – Gideon’s Army, David’s mighty men, Daniel and his three companions. You don’t need a multitude. You look for quality, more than quantity.
PASTOR: God, would you rescue us from victim thinking? Would you stir us to believe you could spark a city-wide fire in our midst?
PEOPLE: Call us to live boldly for Christ. Change our city – and use our congregation in the process.

4. The Profile … The Unreached People Group Chalvadi of Southwest India
The traditional occupations of this Scheduled Caste were carrying carcasses and working as village servants.
More recently, they are engaged as wage labourers in agricultural operations and some are employed in government service.
They accept water and cooked food from all communities except the Madar and Dhor.
The 1981 census shows their literacy rate as 22%.

5. Prayer …
Prayer that God would prepare hearts to understand and receive the Gospel message.
Pray that ministries can overcome the low literacy rate to bring the good news of Christ to the Chalvadi.
Pray that Christian workers will include the Chalvadi community in their outreach.
Pray this low caste community will be able to increasingly educate their children, find improved employment situations, and see their standard of living rise in years ahead.
