3. Progress of the project
From 2002, under support of Statistical Sweden, General Statistic Office built the Business Statistic Database (BDS) cover register record of business units
From 2015, GSO and General Tax Office signed in the Memorial Note on data sharing, GSO is receiving the Tax register (same business register) and Tax data of business units.
A Tax data working term: member of term comes from business Dept, the term studies and suggests Leadership the data can get and share with General Tax Office

4. Progress of the project
Under support of ESCAP, we are studying on Tax data and Enterprise Survey data:
02 National consultants start working from Oct, 2016
First report of consultants on evaluation Tax data and Enterprise survey data
Outcome: (i) a software convert Tax data format to Statistical data format and mapping with enterprise survey data; (ii) report to GSO the statistical indicators can calculate directly from the Tax data and suggest to reduce content of Enterprise survey questionnaire.

5. Issues Data sharing policy: No
The Memorial Note said: GSO do not share the Tax data to the third party so GSO cannot receipt technical support as international consultants
Tax data is not available the key information: number employee of enterprise; business activities of enterprise
Resource is less

6. Overcoming the issues
Data connection: We are building the solution to connect directly with General Tax Office to get data online and automatically:
Monthly data;
Up to date

7. Plans to maintain the improvement (capacity / functionality)
Studying the Monthly tax data (Value Added Tax) to using for statistical purpose
Using recommendation of consultants to develop total solution using tax data for statistical purpose
Maintain master sample frame of business units: ensure to conduct sample survey at business units level
Calculate statistical indicators using tax data
Change questionnaire of Enterprise survey (reduce content to reduce response burden)

Expand data connection project to connect data with other Agency: Custom Agency on import/export data

9. Plan to progress / timelines
April, 2017: National Workshop on using Tax data for statistical purpose
May, 2017: Initial the project using tax data for statistical purpose (using recommendation of national consultants)
June, 2017: Completed the data connection project
August, 2017: Initial the project data sharing with Custom Agency on import/export data

Human resource: large working and take time on evaluation the business register data to mapping with current survey data related business units.
