6 Comparative study reflected by Bidya Roy Choudhury, JNV, Howrah
We were sent by our school to Nayachack Jadunath High School, on 2nd May 2017, for the twinning up of schools program. In this program we had to learn about a new system of schooling and hostelling. We found both the systems were very different. In this school both hostel boaders and day scholars study. But in our school, only hostel system exist. Our teachers are able to check every student’s academic progress regularly, because it is possible, as our strength is less. Nut checking the academic progress of every students regularly in the strength of 1000s is not possible. Our teachers teach us with the help of oral teaching, ICT classes, lab activities etc. But the teachers there taught us with the help of oral teaching but then also there teaching is very good. We have a well- defined routine starting form morning P.T., breakfast, start of school with morning assembly, lunch, remedial, evening games, evening snacks and assembly, evening study and dinner. This makes us disciplined. The teachers, Principal live with us and monitor us all our daily activities. They are available for 21X7. But here teachers are available only from 10:00 a.m to 04:00 p.m. as per the school timing. In our school both academic and CCA activities, matter, but awesome, there only academic development matters. Ours school holds meetings about student’s problem in the different fields- Academic, Mess, House, etc. but as were saw there was no communication between the principal and students.

7 Suggestion by Priyanka Ojha, TGT (English)
I went on (Tuesday) in the evening. I reached by 4:30 p.m. All the classes were over by that time. Almost the students left for their home. The school is very big. The residential setup is for few students in the school. The girls’ hostel is in the school premises and the boys’ hostel is at the nearby place. In the evening they had snacks and after that there was evening prayer. The students are left for leisure after it. The students studied or few didn’t study as they were unattended. The dinner started at 9:00 p.m. and after dinner few studied and many went to fast asleep. In the morning there is no fixed routine till morning assembly. So few utilized the time very well and few remain asleep. In the hostel the students were wholly responsible for themselves as there was no such supervision by any teaching staff only a hostel superintendent is there who takes care of cooking, cleaning and locking of doors at night and academic time. The morning assembly started at 10:30 a.m. after that classes started. The methodology was discussion and questionnaire sometimes. But the concentration of teachers was to control the classes. As all the classes strength was above 100 students. At last two periods girls went to Library (of my school) and boys played football in the guidance of concerned teachers.

8 Suggestions by students
According to my experience this study tour was planned to make sure of our adjustment ability when any change is occurring in our life. All of my class mates including me felt that the hostel and mess sytem was nice, I liked the teaching process of some teachers, but there were many differences between the schooling system of our school and the visiting school. Such as there was a lack of CCA resources and participants. There was a big library so that we could enrich our speaking power. After going there we observed new ways of good behavior, hygiene and cleanliness and also had an experience of politeness, ability and other aspects of life. This was an interaction not only for teaching but also for mental and spiritual aspect. There we got a new process of refreshing ourselves. But there also we enjoy much in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Howrah. Soumya Sundar Patra Class – VII Roll No. - 23

9 Suggestions by students
We are the students of class VII went to the Nayachak Jadunath High School. We learn many things from there. They arrange a twining of programme. They taught us the dance and some Some Sanskriti Song and some Bengali song. So we enjoyed very much there. Some of our students participate in the Santhali dance, some in English song and some Bengali and some song in Sanskriti. They taught us in very good processes. They look after us, Whenever we have problem or not. Our elder sisters on serious behave like us a siblings. So we enjoyed very much there and the teachers love us very much. They taught us there culture. At last I want to say that they tried to taught us the good things in many processes. They tried to give us the good facilities. Opika Biswas Class – VII Roll - 13

Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Howrah as we know are like water in whichever container you keep we wil change our shape to that. It means, we, are trained in such a manner that we can adjust anywhere. We were sent to twining programme with a WBSC Board School by our school. We were been taken test for our abilities. All of our classmates including me, felt that both the schools were very different. But then also, we adjusted in that school. We attended classes just like we did in school & found teaching & learning process here was very varied. Teachers there guided us using all their time. They made us learn their culture. To me, this was very beneficial to us, because we learnt a new system of schooling and hostelling and there was exchange of cultures. I, including all our classmates learnt and enjoyed a lot. Thanking you. Vidya Roy Choudhury Class – VI Roll No. - 33

11 SUGGESTION BY PARENTS Vidya Roy Choudhury, Class-VII, JNV, Howrah
The Children of Class VII were taken to Nayachawk, Jadunath High School for an educational tour. After joining the institution this is the first time that they got opportunity to go some other school and gain knowledge. As being a guardian I, personally feel that organizing such tours always help a child to learn more things, they learn to work in a group, to help each other, to adjust with their pear group, to know more about the educational matters, as every school follows different pattern and system. Mixing with other students from different society and atmosphere always help a child to improve his/her social behavior. Moreover, when we are talking about a residential school, where the children are following and having a routine life, which sometimes bring monotonous attitude towards their studies. These tours help them a lot and fresh up their mind. As being a guardian I feel that the tour which was organized by JNV is very progressive oriented. Going and staying in a different atmosphere help a child in his / her overall development. Which is very necessary now a days. So, this kind of tours are very- very beneficial for student’s life and should be organized. Regards, Sulekha Roy Chowdhury (Guardian of Vidya Roy Chowdhury) Class – VII, JNV, Howrah

12 SUGGESTION BY PARENTS Dripta patra, Class-VII, JNV, Howrah
A twining programme between Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Howrah and Nayachak Jadunath High School was held. This was a good programme. The interaction between these two schools enhanced them mentally, morally. They also learn to adjust in different types of atmosphere and discipline. I physically visited the spot. I talked to the boys. They enjoyed heartily. They were very spontaneous there. They felt less pressure of study. In Navodaya all types of life-oriented teaching are available, which is to be needed here. There are a difference between two types of teaching (i.e. in Navodaya and in Nayachak). According to me Navodaya is preferable. I also show my respect to the state school system, but there should necessary changes be made to keep pace with modern life situation. Regards, Ganesh Chandra Patra (Guardian of Dripta patra) Class – VII, JNV, Howrah
