3 Algebra 1 Classroom Procedures and Expectations
Students quickly and quietly take their class materials(composition book or notebook) to their seats and are ready to work. Students begin the daily Warm Up exercise in their (composition book/notebook). The Warm Up serves to: review the previous lesson(s), address misconceptions and/or present prerequisite skills for an upcoming lesson. Students check for understanding first in pairs/groups and then as a class. Next, I present the new lesson. All students participate in the learning environment.

4 Algebra 1 Classroom Procedures and Expectations Cont.
Students may begin the daily assignment in class on a computer if time allows. Any work not finished must be completed by the next class. Students without access to a computer may do a similar assignment from the book. Please contact me for questions on assignments from the book. Students will be quizzed after each Module. Students will be given District Unit Assessments. Student grades will comprise of classwork(homework), composition/notebook checks, quizzes and tests.

Students quickly and quietly take their class materials(3-ring binder/Protractor/Compass/Dry- Erase Markers/Pencil) to their seats and are ready to work. Students begin the daily Warm Up exercise. The Warm Up serves to review previous lesson(s), address misconceptions, and/or present prerequisite skills for an upcoming lesson. Students check for understanding first in pairs/groups and then as a class. Students MUST focus as the new lesson is presented. This first Quarter focuses on Concepts of Congruence and Similarity in Geometry. Students use fine motor skills while drawing and moving shapes to understand abstract ideas in Geometry. Students need to be precise in their drawings and measurements. They must use a protractor and compass. Students may begin the daily assignment in class if time allows. Any work not finished must be completed by the next class. Student grades are comprised of classwork(homework), binder checks(warm ups), quizzes and tests.
