2 What is the GALILEO Toolbar?
The GALILEO Toolbar is a LibX plugin for Firefox and Internet Explorer.

3 How Do I Get the GALILEO Toolbar?
To download the toolbar, click the “Get Your GALILEO Toolbar” link in the Getting Started section of your GALILEO main page. This will take you to the toolbar scope screen with information about the toolbar as well as links to a video tutorial and instructional materials for you to use. Click the Download your GALILEO Toolbar link to go to the LibX download page. On the LibX download page, you have the option to download for Firefox or Internet Explorer.

7 Searches for Different Consortia
K-12 Searches Public Library Searches There are different search options for each consortium, so academic libraries, public libraries, and K-12 schools will see resources appropriate for their users.

8 Link Directly to Key Resources
From the GALILEO Toolbar, you can link to key resources, such as Academic Search Complete, without going through the GALILEO homepage. Go directly to popular GALILEO databases

9 Links for Different Consortia
The list of links are different for each consortium, so academic libraries, public libraries, and K-12 schools will see resources appropriate for their users. Public Library Links

Right-Click Menu Highlight any text and right-click it to search The right-click menu allows you to highlight any text and search for it.

12 to check your library catalog
Right-Click Menu Right click titles or author names to check your library catalog Right-click titles and author names and check your library catalog for them.

13 Right click an ISBN or ISSN to search for it
Right-Click Menu Right click an ISBN or ISSN to search for it Right-click an ISBN or ISSN to see if your library has it.

14 Authenticate via Proxy
Before you pay, right click to send link through the GAILLEO proxy. Your institution may have already paid for the full text. Before you pay for an article, right click the page or the link to the article to send the link through the GAILLEO proxy. Your institution may have already paid for the full text, so going through the GALILEO proxy may allow you to access the full text.

15 Change Your Preferences
Change LibX preferences for toolbar features LibX Preferences allow you to choose which options appear on the right-click menu and to turn on support for CiteULike.

16 Customizations Request changes for: links searches
Libraries are welcome to request customizations. Here is a list of what can be changed: Left Links Menu - add or remove Express Links to databases, including GLRI databases - change the order of Express Links - add or remove links to the library site, Ask-a-Librarian pages, subject guides, etc. - change the institution's abbreviation Right Search Menu - add or remove catalogs or database searches - change the order of searches - change the text of the search link in the dropdown menu The following cannot be changed: - GALILEO logos - link to the GALILEO homepage - placement of functions on the toolbar - branding of the toolbar

and links to informational FAQs The GALILEO Toolbar scope screen information, which can be accessed by clicking the “Get Your GALILEO Toolbar” link or by clicking the “more>>” link beside the GALILEO Toolbar name listed Databases A-Z, provides information about the toolbar, links to FAQs, and resources for you to use in telling others about it.
