15. Interesting Side note….
During 1989 the best selling song in Germany was “I’m looking for Freedom” by David Hasselhoff.
On new year’s eve, 7 weeks after the fall of the Berlin wall, Hasselhoff performed a concert next to the Brandenburg Gate and the remains of the Wall.
He has subsequently claimed that it was the success of this concert that convinced Germans that they should be united.
