3 NTHS Any seniors who are members of the National Technical Honor Society who are interested in purchasing graduation cords should see Ms. Borganelli by March 31 to pay the $18 fee.

4 Football Banquet Tickets for the football banquet are on sale in the athletic office for $15. The final day to purchase tickets is March 20. The banquet is March 27 at 6:30pm at First Baptist Church.

DYW of 2018, Overall Talent and Overall Fitness and Overall Self Expression - Abigail Musser 1st Alternate and Self expression- Savannah Munn 2nd alternate and Overall Scholastic - Emily Durr Spirit Award - Rachel Hannah Fitness Award - Jadrian Lofing Be Your Best Self Essay - Emily Cartwright We are proud of all our participants. They are all winners. 

6 Senior Pageant Senior girls who are interested in taking part in 2nd Annual Exquisitely Unique Pageant and Scholarship should register and turn in scholarship applications by March 31. If there are any questions, contact Mrs. May.

7 Work Keys Juniors and Seniors who have signed up to take the ACT WorkKeys must return permission forms and registration forms to the Millsaps no later than March 9th. You must have this turned in to attend. See mRs. Borganelli or Dr. Hogan for more information.

11 Cheer If you are planning to tryout for cheerleading but were not able to attend the interest meeting, you will need to stop by Mrs. Blackwell's room to pick up the forms and information packet. All forms are due back by Monday, March 20.

12 Basketball The Lady Jackets play in Biloxi, Wednesday in the final four against Biloxi. Support the Lady Jackets in their quest to advance to the State Championship Saturday.

13 Archery Archery competes at East Union High School at 5 pm on Thursday

14 Baseball Baseball plays South Ponotoc away Friday.
JV begins at 5:00 with Varsity following at 7:00. Baseball plays Gordo, 11 and 4 on Saturday at Yellow Jacket Stadium.

15 Golf Girls’ golf compete against Germantown at the Whisper Lake Country Club on Wednesday at 9. Boys’ golf competes against Tupelo at the Tupelo Country Club Thursday at 11

16 Track Outdoor track hosts home meet, Friday, March 10.

17 Softball Fast Pitch Softball plays Caledonia at home Friday
JV plays at 4:30 Varsity plays at 5:30.

19 Yearbooks You can still pre order a yearbook this week in room 100. The cost is $60. Early purchase is important to keep costs down. Support your Yellow Jacket Staff and get your yearbook.

20 Prom Prom date has been changed to April 29. ALL fees must be paid by March 10 to Mrs. Arick in the front office in order to purchase a ticket. If you’re interested in submitting a design for the 2017 Prom t shirt, please see Mrs. Craft. If your design is chosen you will get a free prom ticket and a free t shirt. (PUT VIDEO PROJECT HERE)

21 Youth Institute Summer Youth Institute is a 9 day leadership program for current freshmen and sophomores committed to making a difference in their communities. This FREE program takes place at the University of Mississippi from June 10-18, 2017. Application deadline is March 6. Applications can be  winterinstitute.org .

22 Science Fair Congratulations to Helen Peng. She was selected overall Best of Fair, advancing to the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) to held in Los Angeles, CA, May Angel Sinclair’s project was also selected Best of Fair, and she won a trip to ISEF to participate as a student observer. This marks the second consecutive year that SHS has won the overall Best of Fair at the Region V MSEF and had a student compete at ISEF! This is Helen’s second consecutive year to compete at ISEF for SHS
