3 Thematic teaching and Curriculum Integration: GOALS
Instruction planned to accommodate individual interests, abilities and rates of learning while fostering a climate of teamwork and mutual support. Exposure to many opportunities where children make decisions about their own learning and to develop a sense of responsibility. Children to progress at their own rate and move on when they are ready: no ceiling on the level of work they can do.

4 Thematic teaching and Curriculum Integration: GOALS
Syllabi integrated and organized around selected themes with many hands on activities Focus on oral communication skills and certain aspects of written communication Use of mathematical concepts to solve numerical problems Assessment is based on individual growth and performance.

5 What is Integrated instruction?
An educational approach that prepares children for lifelong learning. It is a general thematic curriculum that includes: A combination of learning areas built upon the FALD An emphasis on activities Variety of sources that go beyond textbooks Relationships among concepts Flexible schedules Flexible student groupings

6 Importance of Curriculum Integration(Early Primary)
Children see relationships among ideas and concepts as they plan and experience a theme based inquiry. Relationship between topics in school become obvious to children. Communication processes become authentic as students engage in thematically based learning activities. Children are encouraged to share ideas, work together and have respect for one another. Children become engaged and responsible for their learning. Children develop a sense of belonging to a community.
