1 The OTA-EM was designed with the CL20010 ball pad AJ4 connected to ground, following the guidelines in the CL20010A1 datasheet. ClariPhy (Inphi) now recommends that ball pad AJ4 be connected to VCC when using the CL20010B0. Fortunately, this is feasible because there is a VCC ball pad adjacent to ball pad AJ4.

2 The first step is to instruct the assembly house to cover ball pad AJ4 with solder mask, to isolate ball pad AJ4 from ground.

3 Spectrum Integrity can manually edit the existing solder stencil gerber file to connect ball pads AJ4 and AK3. The solder stencil will lay down a bead of solder paste between pads AJ4 and AK3, shorting ball AJ4 (ISO_ON_SEL) to ball AK3 (VCC) during reflow.
