Two groups will do triple science (3 GCSEs) in the same number of lessons as the other students do their 2 GCSEs. We will continue to monitor students to ensure that are in the best group possible.

Students can log on to this website and complete revision exercises and access pages from the textbook. Once you are logged in. Click on courses, choose combined science, biology, chemistry or physics. Then choose the topic you would like to revise. You will be able to select an activity. Once you have opened up the activity you will be able to access pages from the textbook by clicking on the learning aids (top right hand corner). If you would like to complete an exercise you have done before click on your percentage for that exercise and it will give you the option to repeat the exercise.

The school ID is BN1PH. Username and passwords are the student’s date of birth as 6 digits followed by their initials. E.g JH You should click on GCSE science, then GCSE Science courses, then Final Exam in 2018, then Edexcel. From here they can choose biology, chemistry and physics.

10 Revision Guides CGP: Students will need the Edexcel revision resources. Students on the combined science course should buy the GCSE Combined Science for Edexcel revision book. Students in the triple science group will need to buy the 3 separate science revision books. One biology, one chemistry and one physics. There are also workbooks and answer booklets available from this website. If you are not sure what to buy – ask the science teacher.

12 All science GCSEs have CORE PRACTICALS.
Students need to have good attendance to lessons. All science GCSEs have CORE PRACTICALS. The GCSE in Combined Science has EIGHTEEN core practicals. The GCSE in Biology , Chemistry and Physics have eight core practicals for each GCSE (24 in total).

15 Equipment As well as the basics: pens, pencils, rubber, ruler etc
Students need to have: Their own calculator 20 % of the marks in the biology exam are maths questions 30% of the marks in the chemistry exam are maths questions 40% of the marks in the physics exams are maths questions A protractor Students need to be able to measure angles and use a protractor to draw vector diagrams.
