2 How does GCSE Separate Science Work?
You have 3 Teachers – One for Biology, Chemistry and Physics. You achieve 3 GCSE grades Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Exams in May/June 2018 YOUR EXAM BOARD IS AQA

3 How does GCSE Combined Science Trilogy Work?
You have 2 Teachers – Both teachers will help you to achieve your GCSEs You achieve 2 GCSE grades Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Exams in May/June 2018 YOUR EXAM BOARD IS AQA

6 GCSE Chemistry

7 GCSE Physics

8 Mathematical Skills in Exams
A minimum of 10% of marks will test maths skills in GCSE Biology; 20% in GCSE Chemistry; and 30% in GCSE Physics. For Combined Science qualifications maths skills will be in the ratio 1:2:3. In other words for every one mark of maths in biology there must be two in chemistry and three in physics. There will be a variety of question types testing maths skills, including multi-step and open calculations. Some skills will be tested more than others such as use of decimals and translation of graphs.

9 Practical Work You will do 8 practicals for each of Biology, Chemistry and Physics, and 16 for Combined Science. You will be assessed on your practical skills in your exams with at least 15% of the marks coming from questions relating to practicals. You must complete the practical activities and make a record of your work in your exercise books.

11 What happens in Year 10 from now until June?
This year you will be learning parts of the Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Mock exams are in week beginning 12th June 2017 You will also conduct practicals and skills that will be assessed in your XYRs, mock exams and final exams in May/June 2018
