3. Barack was born in Honolulu, Hawaii
Barack was born in Honolulu, Hawaii. His parents are Ann Dunham and Barack Obama Sr. His parents got married in February 1961 when he was 6 months old. Unfortunately soon after when he was only 2yrs old his parents got divorced [1964].

This is a picture of Barack Obama at six years old, a family photo taken in He was now living in Indonesia with his mum and stepdad, who is called Lolo Soetoro. That same year his sister Maya Soetoro was born .

5. School
Barack returned to Hawaii later on in life and attended Punahou school from which he graduated in As a young adult, Barack was educated at Occidental college , Columbia university and Harvard law school.

6. School and education as a young adult
After graduating from Harvard Law School Barack went to work for a Chicago Law firm. This is where he first met Michelle Robinson. He then went on to work as a civil rights lawyer and also taught constitutional law at the university of Chicago. During 1992 he helped organise voter registration for Bill Clinton in his campaign to become president.

7. Marriage and children
On October the 3rd Barack Obama married Michelle Robinson who he met when first studied law . Six years later in1998, their first child was born, a daughter called Malia Ann. In 2001 they had their second daughter called Natasha .

8. Barack’s rise to presidency
Barack wrote his first book called Dreams from My Father printed in His second book was printed in 2006 called The Audacity of Hope. Both the books were about his dreams and visions for America. He became a Senate for Illinois before running for presidency in 2007.

9. President of the U.S.A
On November the 4th 2008 Barack Obama became the first black
President of the United States of America. He was the 44th president until
this day.
