Barack Obama’s Childhood Barack Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on August 4, 1961. His parents were Barack Obama Sr. (from Kenya) and Ann Dunham (from Kansas). When Obama was 2 his dad left to go to Harvard. At age 6 Obama moved to Indonesia with his family. When Barack Obama turned 10 he moved back to Hawaii to live with his Grandparents because his mom went back to school to earn a doctorate degree. Barack Obama playing baseball
Barack’s School Days Barack Obama went to a catholic school at age 6. His high school was called Punahou School in Honolulu, Hawaii Barack Obama went to Occidental College and Columbia University. Barack Obama attended Harvard Law School in 1991 Barack Obama was the first African-American President of the Harvard Law Review.
The Obama Family Barack Obama married Michelle Robison in 1992 by Rev. Jeremiah Wright at Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago Barack and Michelle Obama have two beautiful daughters named Malia (10) and Natasha (7) Obama. Barack, Michelle, Malia, and Sasha Obama on election night.

On August 27, 2008 Barack Obama was nominated to become the 44 th president of the United States against John McCain. On August 23, 2008 Barack Obama chose Joe Biden to become vice president of the United States. On November 4, 2008 Barack Obama was elected the 44 th and 1 st African-American president of the United States On January 20, 2009 Obama and Biden were sworn into office.
