4 The Amish Jacob Amman Thought Mennonites were not strict enough
Started banning and shunning members Group became known as the Amish in 1693

5 Freedom! William Penn offered religious groups freedom in his land
Amish came in the 1700s Today, the largest Amish populations in America are in Pennsylvania, Ohio and Indiana.
