6 The Nile River Egyptians settled along the Nile River valley in northeast Africa. World’s longest river- 4,145 miles long. Runs south to north from central Africa  Mediterranean Sea. Last 600 miles is Egypt.

7 River is only green area in the Sahara desert.
Delta- fan shaped fertile land where it branches out before it reaches the sea.

8 Egypt’s two problems: 96% of Egypt is barren deserts- only crops grown around Nile.
