2 Fictional (Film)-Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)
The purpose of the movie is to entertain the audience, because this is why movies are made for, to entertain the audience and to make it happier; The genre of the movie is action-adventure. You can see that from the mise-en-scene: clothes props etc, and from the explosions and when the cave started collapsing over Indiana Jones and the other guy; The target audience of the movie are adults, and the second audience are children that will watch the movie with their parents, because it is action and they will enjoy it. The movie has a wider audience, so they can make more money with the movie; Narrative: Linear narrative because it doesn’t have any flashbacks from the past or future. The narrative plot is of a hero going into a quest to find a treasure. Representation: The representation of the movie are white and Hispanic people, which represent the lower class because of the clothes they are wearing; The Hispanic man is presented as a stereotype, because after Indiana Jones gives him the treasure he leaves him there and starts running with it. Mode of address: The mode of address is 2nd person, informal, because the characters don’t know that we are watching them, they think that what is happening is happening in reality, so they cant talk directly to us. Use of stars: To make the movie more popular, because Harrison Ford is a popular and good actor, so when people see that he is in that movie they will be good.

3 Factual (Documentary)- BBC’s The Life of Mammals (2002)
Purpose: The purpose of this product is to inform people about the Siberian tigers. Target audience: The target audience is from young children to adults; Narrative: The narrative of this documentary is linear, because it doesn’t have any flashbacks, because it doesn’t refer to the past or to the future. Genre: Nature Documentary, because it is and documentary about the Siberian tiger, and tigers make part of the nature. Representation: The representation is of human which interacts with nature, and presents us the Siberian tiger; Mode of address: 1st person, formal, serious tone, because it is an documentary and it needs to contain facts, and the person is talking directly to us. Use of stars: David Attenborough is presenting the documentary because he is a very famous person in the television, and he has a history of presenting a lot of nature programs, which makes the documentary better.

4 Promotional: Fairy Liquid (1991)
Purpose: The purpose of advertisements are to inform people about a product, and to let them know that it exists and to tell them why they should buy it; for example, in this advert they say that it makes your hands very soft; Target audience: Adults who will buy the product, and children because if they see the commercial at TV they will tell their parents about it, because a kid is acting in the commercial, and it means that the creators of the advert want to target kids as well; Genre: Advertisement; Narrative: The narrative of this advert is linear, because this is just a scene of a mother and her daughter talking and playing around in the house and talking about how soft fairy makes your hands; Representation: A mother and her daughter playing around in the house. There is a stereotype presented in this advert, that the woman is washing the dishes and because that’s what she does everyday she needs an good washing liquid to make her hands soft; Mode of address: 2nd person, informal, because it is an advert, so they do not know that they are filmed; Use of stars: No stars are acting in this advert, because people are interested in the product, not in the actors that are acting, and they want to appeal to the average house women, so they didn’t use any stars.;
