Increase awareness o depression and anxiety Reduce stigma and discrimination Improve help seeking Reduce impact, disability and mortality Facilitate learning, collaboration, innovation and research Federal, State and Territory Governments supported by the generosity of individuals, corporate Australia and Movember.

4 Beyond Blue Established in October 2000
Started with Chairman- The Hon. Jeff Kennett AC and nine staff Established in the Australian context of the World Health Organization's projections of an increasing global burden caused by depression and anxiety.

“It is estimated that around 1,000 people think about suicide every day.” Suicide attempts That’s more than one new attempt in Australia every 10 minutes. Deaths by suicide The most recent data (ABS, Causes of Death, 2012) shows that almost twice as many people died from suicide in Australia, than in road related transport deaths (1,310 vs 2,535).
