1 Soft Skills Sumbal Butt

2 Soft Skills Soft skills is a term often associated with a person's "EI" (Emotional Intelligence), which is a collection of personality traits that characterize one's relationships with other people. These skills can include communication skills, effective teamwork and collaboration, personal habits, and leadership traits, etc. Soft skills contrast with hard skills, which are generally easily quantifiable and measurable (such as software knowledge or fluent English). Quotient means a degree or amount of a specified quality or characteristic. Emotional intelligence (EI) or emotional quotient (EQ) is the capacity of individuals to recognize their own, and other people's emotions, to discriminate between different feelings and label them appropriately, and to use emotional information to guide thinking and behavior.

3 Soft Skills You'll likely see these "soft skills" popping up in job descriptions, next to demands for technical qualifications. Employment experts agree that technical skills may get you an interview, but these soft skills will get you the job—and help you keep it.

4 Communication Skills This doesn't mean you have to be a brilliant orator or writer. It does mean you have to express yourself well, whether it's speaking in a job interview or viva, persuading others with a presentation at the office or just being able to calmly explain to a team member what you need.

5 Teamwork and Collaboration
Employers want employees who play well with others—who can effectively work as part of a team. An effective team member works well with others giving constructive feedback and extending cooperation to his team despite personal differences.

6 Teamwork and Collaboration
He can perform these tasks. being a leader a good follower monitoring the progress meeting deadlines  working with others across the organization to achieve a common goal

7 Adaptability The ability to change yourself to fit new circumstances
Adapt yourself to the changing circumstances especially when you get the first job. Be flexible This is especially important for senior professionals to demonstrate, to challenge the (often invalid) opinion that older workers are too set in their ways. On your resume, and in your interview, explain the ways you've continued to learn and grow throughout your career.

8 Conflict Resolution The ability to persuade, negotiate and resolve conflicts is crucial if you plan to move up. Conflict is a normal part of any healthy relationship. After all, two people can’t be expected to agree on everything all the time. When conflict is mismanaged, it can cause great harm to a relationship, but when handled in a respectful, positive way, conflict provides an opportunity to strengthen the bond between two people.

18 Tips for Viva Confirm the details Get to re-know your thesis
Be very clear about date, time, and venue of the viva examination. Get to re-know your thesis Think about the broader implications of your research. Reread your thesis and make summary points from each page. Note the mistakes. Practice your exam responses Anticipate some common questions and try answering them. Explain one by one

19 Tips for Viva Think about your examiners.
Examiners have different personalities, styles, and levels of experience. Some can be confrontational. It is important that you do not take offence. A relaxed, thoughtful, and non-confrontational response from you will help re-balance the discussion. Take time to consider before replying. Remember to breathe and speak reasonably slowly. Do not take the criticism personally. Enjoy the opportunity to talk about your research.

20 Tips for Viva Use the support available
Take help from your supervisors. They may help you by preparing questions and conducting a practice viva examination with you.

21 Tips for Viva Think positively
Your study will have strengths and weaknesses, and the examiners will want to discuss these. It is considered positive, indeed essential, that you can discuss both strengths and weaknesses. You should not interpret criticism as an indication that you will not get a positive outcome.

22 Tips for Viva Rehearse your presentation
Rehearse in front of a small, intimate audience, such as a family member. You can also practice in front of a mirror. The thought is that by rehearsing in front of a mirror, you'll see what your audience sees and can improve your delivery.

23 Some Extra Tips Calm down and breathe. Do something fun.
Believe in yourself. Go in with a good attitude. Look presentable. Make plans to celebrate it. Try to enjoy it.

24 Oral Activity for the Next Session
Introduce yourself within 2-3 minutes. Tell your name, roll No., study program and current semester Describe your interests, career goals, etc. Guidelines Avoid reading out from a paper. Your microphone should be in a working condition. Minimize the background noise.
