Worship! An act of expressing love, adoration, respect and honour for someone or something. ‘Worth-ship’ To esteem something very highly

3 Everybody worships.. ..something or someone

1. What is worship? b) It is reverence for God. Psalm 5:7 But as for me, I will come into Your house in the multitude of Your mercy; In fear of You I will worship toward your holy temple.

In spirit – from the heart, our innermost being, with everything with us. NOT half-heartedly, lacking in zeal Matthew 15:8-9 Vain/empty worship Honouring with words but heart being far away

In truth – in sincerity, without any pretense of hypocrisy, as prescribed by the Word of God. (His Word is truth) John 17:17 17 Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.

Worship transforms us Who we worship influences who we are and what we will become 2 Corinthians 3:17-18 18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

c) We are empowered to rule and reign As kings and priests, we are positioned to worship and empowered to reign 1 Peter 2:9 9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvellous light;

It is a choice we make. We go beyond our emotions to focus on the unchanging truth of who God is. In doing so, we elevate the truth above our circumstances. In doing so, we invite God’s rule and reign that changes the very atmosphere of our difficult cirumstances.

21 Summary Worship - Recognition |Reverence | Communion | Response.
True worshippers & spirit and truth worship. Worship transforms us. Worship. Especially in difficult times.
