1 The Alabama Conference of Black Mayors (ACBM) is an organization that serves its members and their constituents by providing service, support, and information. We represent a diverse membership that advocates and promote leadership- and economic- development opportunities, high quality health, human services and education. ACBM Priorities: TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE: Provide members with service, support, service and information in order to encourage growth and create communication of excellence ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT: To advocate and promote economic development opportunities for all Alabama communities HEALTH LEADERSHIP: To advocate and promote high quality health and human development services within all ACBM communities EDUCATION FOR STUDENTS OF ALL AGES: To facilitate advocate and encourage the health and wellbeing of Alabama families through education EXTENSIVE & INTENSIVE COMMUNITY OUTREACH: Connecting Alabama residents with programs, services and opportunities that improve the quality of life.

The Alabama Conference of Black Mayors, respectfully request the support and participation of your organization in the Mayors for Healthy Communities Project. The MHCP will be planned and implemented by the Alabama Conference of Black Mayors and facilitated by the Snatcher Leadership Institute at the Morehouse School of Medicine. The goal of the project is to provide powerful, capable, measurable tools and resources that benefit communities in small towns and small to medium-sized cities through increased capacity, outreach and education for the purpose of eliminating health disparities and improving the quality of life for at risk and underserved populations. We are hopeful that you will take part in this extremely important endeavor.

ACBM Supporting communities in their effort to become healthier cities. Obese children and adolescents are at risk for health problems during their youth and as adults. For example, during their youth, obese children and adolescents are more likely to have risk factors associated with cardiovascular disease, such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and Type 2 diabetes, than are other children and adolescents The ACBM and Hobson City Read and Bicycle Ride. August 20,2016 The City of Hobson City youth Bicycle Club. Twenty Youth will earn points to ride bicycles. The youth much participate in library activities that include ongoing reading, volunteering at the library, doing community service, and participate in activities in the city. Through the implementation of a series of new programs in 2016, the ACBM seeks to improve the quality of life for Alabama residents and facilitate sustainable in Alabama cities and towns. Our members and associates are committed more than ever to working in partnership with the bucommunitiessiness community, faith based communities, civic organizations and community leaders for the benefit of Alabama families. We seek to achieve our goals through our extensive community outreach programs and providing needed resources, education and support with regard to eliminating health disparities, advancement through educational opportunities for students of all ages, and more opportunities for families through community and economic development. For this reason, we hope that you will take a moment to review our 2016 RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT PROSPECTUS. Once you have had a chance to learn more about The Alabama Conference of Black Mayors, we would love to schedule a time to meet with you personally to discuss our programs.
