2 M = Movement How people, goods, and ideas move from one place to another.

3 R = Region What is a region? 3 Types of Regions: Formal Region:
A region is a group of places with at least one common characteristic. 3 Types of Regions: Formal Region: A region that has a distinct border. Ex: A country or a state. Functional Region: A region that has boundaries that are based on a similar characteristic; or multiple regions that share the same characteristic. Ex: Dallas/Ft. Worth Perceptual Region: a region that is divided by the state of mind of its people. Ex: parts of a country, multiple countries in an area

Absolute Location The position of an area on the globe It can also be an address Example – 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. Washington, D.C Relative Location The location of an area in comparison to places around it.

7 P = Place How a location can be described How a location is unique
