2 When Ancient China Began Civilization
Dates when this civilization began: Shang dynasty 1766 – 1122 BC. It was the 1st Chinese Dynasty supported by evidence.

3 Where did Ancient China develop?
The civilization of ancient China first developed in the Yellow River region of northern China, in the 3rd and 2nd millennia BC.

4 Important Geographic Conditions:
The civilization was under Yellow River Valley in the Northeast region of China. Fertile soil and water and food supply is what helped them thrive as a civilization, which was found in the Yellow River Valley.

5 China’s Government : By the time the Shang Dynasty, around 1800 BC China was united into an empire and there was an emperor or empress who ruled over many smaller kings Ex: China’s first emperor was, Shi Huangdi, as shown in the picture.

6 Religious Beliefs In China
There are three major religious/philosophies in Ancient China. There was Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism. All three of these religion/philosophies have in common is the interaction with people and nature. For ex: confucianism states that forget injuries, never the kindness! Another belief China has is the belief of your afterlife. When you are dead, you take anything you might need for the afterlife and you supposedly have it in the afterlife to help you.

7 Difficulties Faced : Economy issues as well as an increased population, having an increased population means you need more food, supplies and other things people might need, the silk road helped not only with trade development but also with money and wealth

8 Culture - Confucianism: teachings on the importance of harmonious relationships, moral living and moral government - Taoism: focused on living in harmony with nature - Buddhism: based on teachings Siddhartha, 4 noble truths - Afterlife- life after death - Emperor Shi Huangdi believed in afterlife, and without the thought of afterlife there will be no Terracotta Army

9 Historic figures of China
Confucius (551 BC — 479 BC) - He served as a teacher, politician, and philosopher. Lao Tzu (c. 571 BC — 471 BC) - He is how the concept of taoism became official. He taught people to be humble and work in harmony with nature. Qin Shi Huangdi (259 — 210 BC) - Was the first emperor of China who unified China, creator of the Great Wall and Terracotta Army.

10 3 Interesting things about Ancient China
Ancient Chinese invented things we use today, like paper, fireworks, silk, and ice cream. Chinaś great wall is the longest architecture structure. It is stretched 6,700 kilometers (4,163 miles).It took over 2,000 years to build. China is super old, the history goes back 3,500 years.
