Africa is the world’s second largest land mass. Diverse geography including savannas, deserts, rainforests, and plateaus.

4 The Bantu Migrations Caused by desertification, the land became dry and the desert spread. Bantu people mixed and populated Sub- Saharan Africa. Africa under the Sahara desert. Spread farming techniques, language, and iron technology.

5 North Africa Major population centers, connected to trade across the Mediterranean. In the 600s, Arab armies carried Islam to North Africa. Arabic became the primary language.
