3 ISA-SP84 Milestones ANSI/ISA (IEC Modified) Parts 1-3: Functional Safety: Safety Instrumented Systems for the Process Industry Sector Modification / adoption of IEC Parts 1-3. Key change: addition of Grandfather Clause. Official notification (Nov. 2005) that the standards may be used in seeking compliance with OSHA 29 CFR regulations pertaining to the prevention and mitigation of accidents involving highly hazardous chemicals.

4 ISA-SP84 Milestones – cont.
Two major ISA technical reports completed in 2005 to illustrate and promote the proper application of the three-part series of standards: ISA-TR Part 1: Guideline on the Implementation of ANSI/ISA Parts 1-3 (IEC Mod) ISA-TR Part 2: Example Implementation of ANSI/ISA Parts 1-3 (IEC Mod) Outstanding effort by ISA-SP84 Working Group 2 – led by Dr. Angela Summers
