2 Object Pronouns In Chapter 2 we learned that we can replace direct and indirect objects with object pronouns Direct object pronouns replace: The person or thing that receives the action of the verb Indirect object pronouns replace: The person who benefits from the action of the verb

4 Objects in the Passé Composé
In the passé composé, direct and indirect object pronouns go BEFORE the helping verb avoir or être. Tu as parlé à la documentaliste? Oui, je lui ai parlé The pronouns y and en also come before the helping verb in the passé composé. Oui j’y suis allé hier. J’en ai acheté

5 Agreement with Object Pronouns
In the passé composé, the past participle agrees with the DIRECT OBJECT if the direct object (or object pronoun) appears BEFORE THE VERB. Nous avons gagné la compétition. La compétition? Nous l’avons gangée. Indirect objects do not agree with the past participle in the passé composé.
