4 Find What To Post Stay Relevant Events What People “Like”

5 Stay relevant Pay attention to what’s going on, what other organizations you support are posting (Disability Scoop, Disability Rights PA, AAPD, Press Releases etc.)

6 Events Events your organization is having, or events that are important to your cause - Repost these at least once a week leading up to the event

7 What people “like” Pay attention to what people “Like” and post more about it

8 #Hashtags A Hashtag is a word or words put together with a “#” right before it. The purpose of a hashtag is to allow people to view posts about a specific topic. If you type a specific hashtag in a search box (primarily on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram), all the posts about that topic will come up **As long as they all have the SAME HASHTAG ** This is useful when posting about a cause or event Examples of Hashtags - #DisabilityAdvocacy #TheArcPA

9 Tagging When you mention a person or organization in your post
Creates a link on your post to that person or organization’s page Your post will show up on their page They’ll be aware that you mentioned them, and more people will see your post

10 Tagging - Facebook On Facebook, use the “ before typing the name of the person or organization you want to tag This will bring up a list of possible options When you find the name you want, click on it The name will turn blue which means it’s tagged

13 Tagging - Twitter Twitter works in a similar way, but you have to be more specific and make sure you get the names exactly right, or they won’t come up. IMPORTANT! On Twitter, if tagging at the beginning of a post, you must put a “.” before the Twitter Handle. If you don’t, then your post will only be visible to that one person or organization.

17 Website Challenge - Keeping it up to date
Ask to be copied on all staff distribution lists to stay current on what staff are doing team members to ask if posted information is current Challenge - Finding the right platform
