2 Atmosphere The inversion layer is where warm air is on a cold air mass which traps it in the canyon creating fog. The Grand Canyon itself influences weather because of the changes in elevation

3 Fog This is caused by the Inversion Layer.
The canyon was filled with fog. It rarely occurs in the Grand Canyon. rand-canyon-fog_n_ html

4 Hydrosphere The Colorado river flows through the Grand Canyon
About 20 million years ago the Colorado river started to form the Grand Canyon. The Colorado River flows 1,450 miles from the Rocky Mountain National Park to the Gulf of California in Mexico.

5 Biosphere Near the Colorado river, vegetation and sandy beaches are found. Humans have introduced plant and animal species that are not native to the area. The Grand canyon has five major ecosystems.. Mixed Conifer Forest, Ponderosa Pine Forest, Pinyon-Juniper Woodlands, Desert Scrub, and the Riparian.

6 Lithosphere About 40 rock layers make up the Canyons wall.
The Grand Canyon is located on the Colorado Plateau. 5,000 to 13,000 feet above sea level.
